GlycoMimetics Inc (CBIO) Analyst Ratings
Bulls say
Crescent Biopharma is attractive because its lead asset CR-001 targets the validated PD-1/VEGF mechanism that has already produced meaningful OS and PFS wins for ivonescimab across phase 3 studies, including the pembrolizumab-comparable 22.6-month control-arm OS in HARMONi-2 and a positive OS readout in advanced BTC. Those results support the view that CR-001’s ASCEND phase 1/2 program in multiple solid tumors, including 1L/2L NSCLC, gastric, and gynecological cancers, could benefit from a broader tumor-agnostic opportunity rather than an NSCLC-only thesis, with initial monotherapy data expected in 1Q:27 and combination data in mid:2027. The company’s second and third programs, CR-002 and CR-003, are ADCs against validated oncology targets, adding pipeline depth and improving the fundamental case while the market waits for clinical validation.
Bears say
Crescent Biopharma is viewed negatively because its lead CR-001 faces a high risk of clinical or regulatory failure, and even if development continues, it may struggle to match or exceed increasingly strong competing data in 1L NSCLC. The investment case has weakened after sac-TMT plus pembrolizumab showed a 65% reduction in progression or death versus pembrolizumab, compared with 49% for ivonescimab, while CR-001 is still only a copycat thesis with no mature overall survival data to support premium valuation. Meanwhile, CR-003/SKB105 is still preclinical from a value standpoint because Crescent has no human data yet, and restructuring plus asset impairment charges further underscore execution and financing risk.
